Ground-Breaking Program Improves Rep Influence with Health Care Providers Through Patient-Centric Focus
BURLINGTON, MA (June 5, 2014) –Qstream, providers of a scientifically-proven mobile solution that allows organizations to manage the effectiveness of sales forces in just minutes a day, today announced that Excellerate, a company focused on changing pharmaceutical industry behaviors, is using the Qstream platform to power its innovative new program, EngageRx: The 3 Keys to Patient-Focused Growth for Pharma Professionals.
After an extensive 1, 000-person pilot, the much-anticipated U.S. edition of EngageRx is set for release on June 9 at the Society of Pharmaceutical and Biotech Trainers (SPBT) conference in Dallas, Texas. EngageRx is a 15-module mobile learning program for pharma professionals interested in growing their business in a patient-focused way. Using Qstream, participants complete exercises and respond to fun daily challenges via their smartphone or tablet at a place and time that’s most convenient for them.
While patient-centricity has become the industry’s new mantra, pharma companies have struggled to reconcile their goals of being patient-focused with a fiscal need to be shareholder focused. According to a recent eyeforpharma survey of over 1, 500 pharma executives, 81% believe that focusing on the patient is key to future profitability for their company.
“Pharma professionals are an underutilized health care resource because they have been perceived to serve only pharma’s interests. We are helping to change this, ” said Jill Donahue, co-creator of EngageRx and noted industry speaker. “Nine in 10 pharma executives think that the pharma business model is broken. Part of this is an outdated approach to selling.”
Different from other pharmaceutical training programs, EngageRx starts by leading participants through their own motivations, helping them to answer the question ‘why are you in pharma’ which, for many, underscores the need for greater patient focus. From there it takes on the issue of how to both influence behavior change ethically and be a person who can best engage others authentically. Through this process, sales professionals learn how to create better outcomes for themselves, their company, health care professionals and most importantly patients.
“At LEO Pharma, we are on the journey of inspiring and empowering employees to internalize patient-centricity and take stakeholder engagement to the next level for the benefit of patients, ” said Kathy Foris, Vice President of Scientific Affairs at LEO Canada. “EngageRx’s content, delivered through Qstream’s mobile platform, is an innovative facilitator of patient-focused organizational change.”
Developed at Harvard Medical School, Qstream offers a powerfully simple – and highly scalable – approach to enabling more effective sales teams. Unlike solutions that tether client conversations to rote presentations, Qstream equips sales reps for dynamic, value-added business conversations that drive revenue and keep pace with market change. Push notifications and built-in game mechanics drive engagement through the ease of use and positive competition that reps enjoy. In nearly two dozen randomized clinical trials, Qstream has been proven to increase knowledge retention and durably change behaviors.
“My job is to inspire our people to focus on the patient in everything they think, say and do, ” said Dallas Moores, Senior National Trainer at Bayer Canada, the first to complete a company-wide rollout of EngageRx. “Only then will we gain the trustworthiness that will allow us to engage health care professionals in a way that contributes to better patient outcomes. EngageRx helps us do this.”
